Here is the report you wanted Flukes. Went out after the game for a bit. Last year in March we had that warm up and my fishing report was great. Caught lots of crappie and even kept a few. This report is......it was cold and windy out there. Really windy and cold. I was only out there just over an hour and my line was freezing up. LOL. Just put a new spool of SuperSlick on, so put a few frays in the fresh line I'm sure, from the ice build up. No fish but who cares, fishin is fishin.

That's too bad...was hoping to hear the crappie were hungry and non-stop bites. But for sure, that's fishing. I was out today for 2 hours and not a single mark of a real fish (lots of marks I would call smelt)...how things change in just a couple of days in the same area. It wasn't even like the fish were even slower...not a single good mark! Fishing!

Thanks Flukes and Arnie. It was a long shot fishing that strip of open water. Just wish the temperature had of stayed above zero. I was looking forward to seeing the sun come up with a few crappie in the bucket. When was the last time a fishing adventure of mine was a short outing????? Uhhhh Never. LOL.

I am sure that you will hit into them shortly as per always Jamie. You did better than me.....you were out there.
Flukes you are correct we are and will be forever optimists.

Thank you Arnie and Dale. Didn't have a whole lot of room to cast. I would have stayed out all night if my line had not froze. The potential and enthusiasm was there, but Mother Nature shut me down. Eight plus months of open water is just around the corner.

Last week while up at the lake, took a drive into Peterborough. Wanted to check out Tackle Bros fishing store. From crappie to muskie, they have it all. Very nice shop and met Chris Huskilson during my visit. I had heard of Chris through a friend, this guy can fish. We had a great chat about crappie and walleye. That chat could have lasted all day. LOL. Although our methods were almost completely opposite, our passion for fishing was one in the same. Just goes to show two anglers can catch the same species of fish successfully, with a completely different approach and tackle. Anyways, if anyone needs anything in the Peterborough area, stop in and see them. It's always good to support the local tackle shops wherever you live or fish.
