That trip was an absolute blast, with alot of firsts for me..first M&G, first laker (and second), first time trying smoked trout, and met a bunch of awesome people from the board. Here's to hoping that the conditions will be good enough to hold one on the Lady this year...
..That reminds me - whatever happened to Avengere? Met him on the ice, and he was a prolific poster on here last year with lots of great pics of the event. Haven't seen him here...summer hibernation?

I can't remember what happened to me last year. I couldn't make it for some reason. They say the memory is the first thing to go Followed with vision,,,ya,,,I'm there
Where ever the winter M&G is this year, I'll do my dangest to be there.
As for Venge, he had a few issues and decided to move on. Last I heard, he moved to Kalamazoo Michigan and became an acrobat.

First I think we will wait and see what mother nature brings. As far as setting up a meet and greet it would be nice to get one maybe two, one perch and one whitie/trout. On the Lady. We will look at it early to mid Jan. Unless someone else wants the job. As far as avengere, he has disappeared off all fishing boards I used to see him on.

Yes, for sure that was a great time and I could not believe the turn-out we had.
It was a pleasure meeting everyone...
We will try to organize a couple of M&G this winter as Bob says, pending weather conditions. As always it won't be anything formal or fancy, just a date and place and we will work out whatever anyone would like to bring..

BAYLINER YOU KNOW AVENGER LIKED TREES ARE YOU SURE YOU DID NOT MISTAKE HIM FOR A TREE RAT.IF SO WHAT COLOR SHOULD WE LOOK FOR.
Those great photos bring back the great memory. Oh yeah, the last photo is of my little daughter with a little trout.:-) And yes, let's meet and greet and fish again this winter...

Yes, it most certainly was a great time last year. Great meeting some people from the Board and putting faces to Post's.
Bob, it sounds like you are scrapping Lake Rousseau and going to the Lady instead. What would be the matter with going there again. I think it would be nice for a change to meet there again. The fishing there was not bad and the friends we met were even better.
We certainly lost a good person when the Avenge left us. There are not a lot of people out there with his funny and dry sense of humour. I would challenge anyone who still keeps in touch with him to try and get him back. As far as I am concerned he made this Board a lot brighter than it already is.

Codyboy, I fish Rosseau more than you think and I am not opposed to it BUT this is a Lake Simcoe board and many people come from many places to fish here, I think we will wait and see what the members want. Also organizing here is MUCH easier than arranging with parking and transporting of people and equipment. Last year we were not able to get out on the big lake and trout fishing had to be moved to be safe. That is why I organized that trip. Lets see if mother nature will work with us.

I look forward to the opportunity to outfish Codyboy again, and watch Longshank destroy the strudel, challenge one or two of Bobs moose burgers topped off with some SD Caller smoked trout, since the strudel will be gone into hiding with Longshank I'll go for Codyboys venison sausage with hot peppers on the side. Windemere was great, all you that didn't make it last year make sure you do this year, great food, great people, a great day for everyone and very well organized. Lets hope for ice in January.

When Bayliner lost his memory I think it took mine with him. I can recall that I couldn't make it, no idea why though. I was all set to go to the one on Simcoe but the weather/ice failed us. Let's hope for better ice this year. I'll be there if I possible can, still waiting for my first Moose Burger.
