Anyone fish a Lund Alaskan? Curious on your thoughts on this boat. Have an opportunity to get a 20 foot tiller model and looking for opinions. Used to fishing Kawarthas but moved up near Simcoe so need a bigger boat to fish the big lake. Should I even entertain the tiller model or is a windshield or single console a must? Love the maneuverability of the tiller but dont want to regret it.

Don't own a Lund Alaskan, but have ridden in one. Good wide boat, handles rough water well. Lots of guys will tell you that a tiller is a must for boat control, particularly for back-trolling walleye, although not much of that in Simcoe. One thing about a big tiller, you have to stay sharp and be on top of it all the time.

Hey Shank, Looking forward to getting aboard again this year. We need to work out some details on our end, but it would need to be before May. I'll call you when the family is on the same page.
