I've owned everything from 12 to 22 ft. 7.5 to 265 HP. Do lots of research, pick the makes and models that fit your criteria and buy the biggest boat you can afford with the max rated HP for that boat. Nothing sucks quite as much as an underpowered boat.

If the pic works, this is my Lund 1400 Fury. 20hp Mercury 4stroke. Runs fine when alone, but under powered with extra people on board. Great for trolling. Would recommend 30hp for this model.

Happy New Year to ALL, Ssaaacckk bought a used legend on kijiji 17 ft xcalibur with all the toys downriggers.kicker 4 stk and a 75hp 4 stk electronics etc very happy with it . Had a tin 14 footer with a 18 hp . The advice is excellent , deep hull, and as much power as the boat and wallet can handle, canopy is a nice option to get out of the sun and rain. Some dealers will be at the toronto fishing show in Feb @ the toronto international center.
