Had to go over by Collingwood today and here is what I saw in various places.
1)Crossed the Notty on Hwy 26 at Edenvale. Water is over the banks and in the fields, but surprisingfly doesn't seem too muddy. 2)Crossed the Pretty River at Nottawa on Hwy 124. Level is high, but nowhere near going over its banks. Flow looked fairly clear. Might be worth fishing at the mouth. 3)Collingwood Harbour-most of it is still ice covered. 4)Silver Creek where it crosses Hwy 26--same as the Pretty River. 5)Craigleith, not a lot of ice piled on shore, but the pack ice had blown in and there was 500 or 600ft of pack ice out from shore before there was open water. If the wind changes and blows the ice away, it shouldn't be too hard to fish from shore. 6)Crossed the Beaver River 6 or 7 miles upstream from the mouth and it was very high, but also very clear. Not muddy at all. Would bode well for fishing at the mouth. 7)Bottom end of Nottawasga Bay-lot of ice appeared to have blown into the South west corner.
For those of you not living in the area and wondering about conditions-hope this fills it in a bit for you.
