Well done Dan & congrats to Nadia with her first ice walleye.
I know what you mean about dangerous waters, that's the main reason I have stayed off the BOQ - but with good company I feel safer and will go back for sure.
It was great to meet up with you on Sat, even thou the fishing was slow. It's good to hear we weren't the only ones having trouble finding the fish.
I got stuck in the same traffic jam on the way home yesterday - it was crazy took us nearly the whole day to get home from Kingston. HWY 401 was completely closed bwt Grafton and Cobourg - apparently a tractor trailer roll over. All detours were jamed with cars as well.. Good times..

Dan,
Congrats on finding fish on Monday and getting Nadia her first walleye and a bucket of jumbos. Will be good eats tonight
I had a feeling that the fishing would be good with the west wind and the approaching system. We decided to head back early to prepare for our upcoming trip on Friday and it was a good thing we did. We passed thru the area of the accident less than 10 minutes before it happened. Sounded like it was a mess.
We had a great time as well and enjoyed the company. It is a good idea to travel in groups on the bay because of the fluctuations of ice thickness and be very cautious. Unfortunately, walleye on Quinte are closed at the end of Feb so we won't be able to make it out there before closing but will be there next year as soon as there is safe ice. Maybe we will even try a trip there in the summer this year.
