A friend and I decided to give the Southern rivers a gander first thing Saturday morning . Our day started arriving on the river with our lines in the water @ 5:00 am . Water levels and clarity were perfect ! We decided to go far east then working our way back west .

Our first spot we fished was really good with everyone hooking into Rainbows.

We only had one good smack at the roe bag with in 40 minutes since we got there... off we were to the next river. It was way too windy and cold to be centre-pining .

Arriving at our next location is where we spent most of our day landing fish all day ! Big Big fresh rainbows were being hooked , landed and released. Went threw 2 baby jars full of Roe. Green & White (Trout Roe) were the ticket . Defiantly a Roe bite ! This River kept us busy fishing right until 5:30pm .

Although it was a personal best day for me with catching many Rainbows . Only one photo was taken of my first fish with brand new rod & Reel. Way too cold for photo's.

Good job on the bows If there were some like that in the Credit where I live, AND if it wasn't a "No Kill" zone, I might have got interested in that style of fishing. If I were to catch a bow, I'd want to eat it.

Very nice Dan.. You sure do get around.. LOL.
I'm glad you had a PB day..

I might of went there this morning for 1 hour, got one first cast..
It was camera shy and broke off...
Then slush started coming down and I left it for another day.

PS: Sweet looking rod & reel...

Was a very long day out !

Felt nice to be of the hard water and back out on the river . I even took 20 minute snooze right next to the running water .

Slush was in our way at some places . Others kept us there for hours nailing rainbow after rainbow . Beautiful fresh fish along with some nice sizes ! I beginning to like the southern tribs more and more

Northern Rainbows are for more pretty

Good sunny day should be really good down that way again now that it has opened up Jerry . Should be fish able from here on in . I doubt that it will freeze up again ...

Awesome reel !

Best bang for the buck . I picked it up at the sportsmen show for a killer deal with rod and reel combo for $365 Tax in !

Couldn't give up that deal . The new king pin was out as well wit the same bearing as the Rapala shift for $799 ( Abec 7 Bearings) . I also find the Rapala shift to be machined a lot nicer and sturdy then the king pins.

Couldn't ask for a better day out fishing with the new combo . I ran 10 pound Orange Trilene line with a 6 Pound Seagaur floro lead.....Depending on the water clarity I will go as little as 4 Pound. No more then 6 !

I've read a lot of good things about the new Rapala float rods and reels.
Since you got me started on this type of fishing Dan, all I do is study the new products and gear available. (and spend tons of cash)
It's nice to hear you like it.
Let's get out for a drift soon. I'm heading down to a south trib this weekend.

,

Wish I could make it down with you that way . Sat, I will be at the meet and great . When I get back from fishing down south I will msg you .

Will meet up . I been looking for a Kayak . I found a cheaper pelican that's small light weight and perfect for the river.

I guess the next step is seeing how comfortable it is...

Can't wait to get out there with them when purchase one. Msg you soon . Hardwater season is now coming to a end.
