Shades Mills, Slow

Got out for my first time this year. Shades Mills opened today for ice fishing. Never been there, so went to give it a try. Within five minutes of drilling my first hole I landed a perch. Slow after that. Caught a few more, but all dinks. Nothing to bring home. But it was a nice day to be out. One guy caught a pike and some perch were caught by others. Not sure if anyone caught any keepers.

was there last week and landed a 24" pike first 10 mins there. last two outtings have been a skunk...trying again tomorrow and calling it quits after that

Congrats on the pike. Was the pike caught on a minnow. I didn't have minnows with me when I went. All perch were caught on worms. I did a bit of jigging, but no luck with that. Not sure if I'll get out anymore this year. Long Point has a lot of open water.

No first pike on lime green mid size buck shot tipped with minnow... Worked for perch as well... Also last couple days found that just a plain old hook and minnow worked well for pike and perch there, better then anything else I tired... Small minnows...
