Hey guys new to the board here, just looking at the recent posts.

Was wondering if anyone had a rough idea of when the ice would be suitable for perch/pike fishing, looking at the updates and conditions seems like the end of this week or the end of next week seems pretty suitable if weather conditions hold up.

also, can anyone recommend which point to launch in or ice operator would be good for some trout or white fish. pretty new to the whitefish and trout fishing but i wanted ot try it out; from what i know people are fishing them at 100 ft +. is there a specific time to target these species or the usual evening and mornign does the trick, and how long do u guys think before we can go that deep

any pointers would be greath thanks.

Little lake in barrie is a safe bet, you can launch from duckworth but park on the road. I was there last saturday, got 5 pike. Its about 20 feet deep in the middle.
Trout fishing will be a few more weeks as many of the waters with 100 feet of water are still open on simcoe.
Kashaga lodge in haliburton I know is open now. They have day huts available and the lake is 130 feet deep. Never fished it but I heard good walleye and trout action.

Hope that helps bud

Little Lake is good to go all the way out?
Thinking of going to catch pike this weekend there.

How far out do you have to be for Pike there?
