Didn't know what to do but wanted to get out for a few hours for something....so decided ast minute to go to a decent carping spot.

I know know, everybody chasing chrome, but I like carping...lazy fishing

I figured it was still way too cold.....wrong

3 hours and went 3 for 8 on a new carp bait i got off the Internet. They love it

So did this 1 giant Gander that came rihgt up and snatched "boilies" right outa my hand, and then tood a nice bite onto my thumb.

I didn't take a camera beacuse I figured there would be no photos to take.wrong again.

I'll get a pic of that goose for sure..close up

btw, quite a number of bullheads caught by another guy beside me about 100 feet away,

I agree with that . Best fight is with a noodle rod. I used to do a lot of carp fishing for fun . My dad used to make little corn balls for it the night before. Of course I used to eat most of them before we got down to the river. Always a good time ... That's why I like baiting Bear . I get to eat what ever they eat

What I wouldn't give to have a pic of Shanks face when that goose clamped onto his thumb.

Nice going Werner..

It does seem early for carping, but if the water temp is right they will go on the spring feed..

So many opportunities, so little time..

True John, but after you catch them, all they're good for is garden fertiliser.

Nice going Longshank. When Lakeview Generating Station was up and running ,i would fish there all winter for bows and browns. Drifting roe or salted minnows with a noodle rod..........Every once in a while Mr Scales would eat up our baits. Gotta love it.

April carp fishing is the best way to pass the time while waiting for chrome opener.

I don't suppose you want to share your "decent carping spot" to all of us now would you long shanks??

I've only targeted Carp once when I was younger. Being from Peterborough, ON, there's tons of great spots. Live in Bradford, ON now and not sure where to go for Carp yet. Love to see some pics when you guys have em! Love the fight.

Cheers,

Robb (perchfeind)

Sorry, I can't or else it wouldn't be decent anymore. Enough people go there already.

Learned a few years back that any area that hold carp will produce almost immediately after ice out.....although I personaly think it gets better as temps warm up.

You just have to go on a warm day when it probably goes up even 1 degree and they wil. turn on

Used to find the same hold true for stream fishing bows. people get there early on a cold night and leave just as water warms up and fish turn on.

So sometimes afternoon evening is better than mornings.
