A flood warning is still in effect for low-lying areas around Lake Nipissing and the French River.
Weekend weather conditions helped lower water levels, and they're expected to continue to decrease with a five-day forecast predicting only one or two millimetres of rain in the coming days, the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority said in a news release.
"As water levels remain higher than normal, the public is urged to use extreme caution around all watercourses," the release said.
"Parents and caregivers are advised to keep children away from all waterways. Areas around dams, culverts, bridges and fast flowing ditches should be avoided at all times."
The conservation authority said it's continuing to monitor the water current and forecasted weather conditions.
