Water too cold, not at all, about 3 weeks ago on the way to Meaford I watched a fellow pull one out at Craigleith. They are there, they just don't bite all the time.

Thanks for the report. That spot can be difficult at times. Wind direction has a large effect on the fishing success. There is a spot there with a deeper area near shore that is good some days.

I have just moved to Collingwood and want to start shore fishing as I live near Craigleith. As a walleye fisherman I am not sure what equipment I need here and what kind of setup. Can anyone please fill me in? Thanks

Basic gear for this area, long steelhead rods, 1oz egg sinkers (or larger if you want to cast out farther), 24"-36" leader line tied to a swivel, just after the egg sinker, so that the leader slides freely (same as a carolina rig for bass), small sharp hooks (Gamakatsu), Spawn sacs in various colours for bait with floaties inside the sacs. O ya a nice rod holder to keep the rod elevated above the inshore waves is a good idea, since the constant shoreline swells makes it hard to detect strikes.
Attach a long steel rod to the base and bind this "extended rod holder" to a 5-gallon pail. Then carry this outfit to your fishing spot, throw some large rocks in your pail and you are all set. You can also just grind the steel rod end to a spike and try hammering it into the ground somewhere, but lot's of shale in Craigleith and sometimes it's hard to find a good footing. Check out the contraptions some of the other guys are using - you'll see all kinds of modifications, but a few old timers showed me the bucket trick, you can use it to carry your gear and any fish home if you catch. Good Luck
For spawn sacs with floats bait? Depends where you are coming from... I usually tie my own. You can get coloured styrofoam floats from most tackleshops. Basspro and I think some Canadian Tires have them.
