Hi All,
I thought I would post about some board functions some members have been asking me about. Many newbies to the message board system may not know that you can customize your member profile and posts. This is done in the "My Controls" area. Link, top right, under the "Help" icon.

Here are a few of the most widely used member features:

1) Adding an avatar
This adds a custom pic under your member name.
Click "My Controls", under "Personal Profile", then click "Edit Avatar Settings"
There are a few avatars provided with fishing or hunting themes.

2) Adding a Signature
This adds a signature to the bottom of all your posts in the message board.
Click "My Controls", under "Personal Profile", then click "Edit Signature"
Use the text box provided to entered you custom signature

3) Adjusting your time-zone
You can adjust the time-zone for the message board to suit your needs. I have left control of this to the members incase you are out-of-town or if a particular member in not in our default time zone EST.
Click "My Controls", under "Options", then click "Board Settings"
Set time to GMT -5:00, and currently "Daylight savings time is not in effect" and should be unchecked. If your time is correct don't do anything. I set the default time-zone when you registered to EST. If you are off by an hour or your time is way off. Set your board clock as outlined above.

The "My Controls" area also allows you to change your "Personal Profile" where you can share details about your interests, hobbies, and Post a Pic. Your can see your member profile by clicking your "Member Name" anywhere on the board.

The first section of your "My Controls" is your PM (Private Messenger/Personal Messenger). This is where you can send private messages to other members. To send a PM to a member just click the "PM" icon under a members post OR on a member's profile page OR just enter the member name in the messenger system.
