Welcome aboard Steve, very nice 52" pike. I fish the Ottawa River further north up around the Temiskaming Quebec area, good fishing on the Ottawa River.
Thanks for introducing yourself and posting the picture, good luck on Simcoe.

Heh guys, here is my biggest catch.... I snagged it in the dorsal fin while trolling in the Grand River down in Port Maitland, near Dunnville, ON. Thought it was an Asian carp. Took me about half an hour to bring it in - no one to help me:). I went over to another boat to see if we could identify it, they didn't know either. Took a picture, and then released it. Sent the picture to MNR, and they identified it as a Buffalo Fish, said they are very rarely caught. In the picture my net is 26 inches long, by 22 wide. It dwarfs the net, and bent it pretty bad when I lifted out of the water. I'm guessing it was around 36 inches plus, and weighed in the 30 lb. range. It was a heavy pig, which stunk up my boat for weeks. Had to disinfect the whole thing. Lots of fun any way.

Biggest fish I have caught yet. Caught it jigging in Mexico in 200' of water took about 15mins to land. Forth fish that day. That fish kicked the crap out of me about 50lbs.
